Strategic Objectives
Amani Al-Azzam, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, emphasized that the ministry is actively supporting energy audit studies for several government bodies, including the Ministry of Labor. These audits assess current consumption and identify improvement opportunities based on technical best practices.

Institutional Awareness: Al-Azzam noted that the current phase focuses on implementing audit findings, which requires institutional commitment and a shift in daily employee behaviors.

Economic Impact: Improved efficiency is expected to reduce government spending and enhance national energy security, aligning with Jordan’s strategic environmental and economic goals.

Ministry of Labor Goals
Secretary-General Abdul Halim Dojan stated that adopting energy efficiency is no longer an option but a national necessity given rising energy costs.

Potential Savings: An energy audit of the ministry’s headquarters revealed the potential to reduce energy consumption by up to 20%.

Immediate Actions: Planned measures for the current year include:

Replacing traditional lighting with high-efficiency LED units.

Optimizing temperature settings for air conditioning systems.

Implementing operational changes with a payback period of less than two years.

International Cooperation
The project is supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), a key partner in the German Energy Academy in Jordan.

Ghaith Bani Abdul Rahman (GIZ): Highlighted the importance of building the capacity of Jordan’s energy sector workers to enhance energy security and support vocational training and employment.

Ayman Al-Batayneh (German Energy Academy): Stressed the role of training programs in equipping technical staff with the knowledge needed for effective energy management.

The workshops include specialized training sessions and a vocational program held at the Vocational Training Corporation auditorium to enhance the technical skills of the ministry's cadres.
