Ministry of Industry regulates, monitors food prices

AMMAN — The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply confirmed Saturday the abundance of food commodities available in Jordanian markets, according to Ammannet.اضافة اعلان

The ministry stated that it will monitor prices on a daily basis, and apply heavy penalties against those who inflate prices.

It also called for reporting market violations with regard to exceeding the price ceilings set for certain commodities, especially chicken and vegetable oils, as violators will be referred to the Attorney General.

The ministry indicated that it had decided to reduce the price of fresh chicken by 15 piasters so that the price of one kilogram for the consumer would be JD2.
