Mental health services to be integrated in primary healthcare — health ministry

AMMAN — The Ministry of Health’s strategy revealed a program to integrate mental health services into primary healthcare at a cost of JD5.1 million in 2023. اضافة اعلان

The program will be funded by the International Medical Corps. The responsible entity will be the Primary Healthcare Management, Projects and Planning Directorate, and International Cooperation will be a partner, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

The program’s measurement index will be based on the number of centers providing mental health treatment services.

The cost of the Ministry of Health’s strategy for 2023 to 2025 is estimated at around JD1.7 billion, with 66 percent of it being funded within the ministry’s budget, according to the Minister of Health, Firas Al-Hawari.

The new strategy consists of eight main axes that align with the modernization vision, which aims to improve the level of services provided to citizens and their fair distribution.
