AMMAN — The Lower House called on the UN, the
Inter-Parliamentary Union and relevant international bodies to take a decisive
stance in the face of the Israeli occupation’s practices in East Jerusalem’s
Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
In a statement on Saturday, MPs affirmed that under the
leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Jordanian people stand by the
Palestinians in their quest for their legal rights, which include the
establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Lower House added that it will continue, through its
Palestine Committee, to coordinate with Arab parliaments to form an
international parliamentary stance in support of the protection of Jerusalem
and its people, and in defense of their stance against the occupation.
