MPs denounce Israeli practices in East Jerusalem

AMMAN — The Lower House called on the UN, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and relevant international bodies to take a decisive stance in the face of the Israeli occupation’s practices in East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. In a statement on Saturday, MPs affirmed that under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Jordanian people stand by the Palestinians in their quest for their legal rights, which include the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. The Lower House added that it will continue, through its Palestine Committee, to coordinate with Arab parliaments to form an international parliamentary stance in support of the protection of Jerusalem and its people, and in defense of their stance against the occupation. In a statement on Saturday, MPs affirmed that under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Jordanian people stand by the Palestinians in their quest for their legal rights, which include the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Lower House added that it will continue, through its Palestine Committee, to coordinate with Arab parliaments to form an international parliamentary stance in support of the protection of Jerusalem and its people, and in defense of their stance against the occupation.
