AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, on Monday stressed support for the army and the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) in their efforts to counter drug smuggling and drug-related crime, as well as any threats to national and regional security, according to a Royal Court statement. The King urged drafting a national strategy that engages the public in efforts to safeguard all from drug-related threats. His Majesty was also briefed on AND’s plans and procedures, as well as the latest figures on countering drug smuggling and the amounts of confiscated drugs.
