His Majesty King Abdullah II met on Tuesday at Al-Husseiniya Palace with a group of retired military personnel to discuss local and regional developments.

During the meeting, the King welcomed the U.S.-led efforts to reduce tensions in the region and expressed Jordan’s hope that all parties will commit to calm, leading to the restoration of security and stability.
His Majesty reiterated the urgent need to intensify international efforts to halt the war on Gaza, ensure adequate humanitarian aid delivery, and stop the dangerous escalation in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
The King emphasized that Jordan continues to coordinate with brotherly and friendly countries as well as key regional actors to reach a comprehensive de-escalation in the region. He underscored the importance of respecting state sovereignty and adhering to international law.
His Majesty affirmed that protecting Jordan’s interests, security, stability, and the safety of its citizens remain top priorities. He also highlighted Jordan’s ongoing fight against terrorism and extremism in coordination with its brothers and friends.
King Abdullah II expressed pride in the retired military personnel, recognizing their sacrifices and their role in fostering national spirit.
The retirees expressed their appreciation for the King’s leadership and efforts to protect the homeland and its people. They affirmed that Jordan will remain strong and steadfast despite surrounding challenges.
They stressed that, under the King’s leadership, Jordan is advancing steadily in modernization, achievements, and capacity building, which is a source of pride for all.
The meeting was attended by His Majesty’s Chief of Royal Court, Yousef Hassan Al-Eisawi; Director of the Royal Office, Engineer Alaa Al-Bataineh; Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Al-Huneiti; Director of General Intelligence, Major General Ahmed Husni; and Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. Obeid Allah Al-Maayta.
