AMMAN — Jordanian authorities have decided to refer MP Imad
Al-Adwan and other suspects to the public prosecutor of the State Security
Court for their involvement in multiple instances of smuggling and trafficking
firearms, gold, electronic cigarettes, and other items, as per their
confessions.

The majority of the parliament voted on Sunday to lift the
immunity of MP -Adwan, who was detained by Israeli authorities on April 23, for
questioning related to an alleged smuggling operation of firearms and gold.
In a press conference, the Speaker of the House of
Representatives, Ahmad Al-Safadi, stated that MP Adwan entered the Jordanian
border after being released from Israeli detention.
Safadi added that the decision to lift the immunity was made
at the request of the State Security Court Prosecutor.
Earlier on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Expatriates announced that MP Adwan was handed over by Israeli authorities to
the concerned Jordanian security authorities at the King Hussein Bridge.
