Jordan records 97 new COVID-19 deaths, 39,979 new cases

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 39,979 new COVID-19 cases and 97 new deaths according to the weekly report published by the Ministry of Health, bringing the total death toll to 13,882 and the total number of cases to 1,654,677.اضافة اعلان

During the week of February 26 till March, Amman recorded 16,827 cases, while Zarqa recorded 3,439 cases. Irbid registered 5,769 cases, Balqa 3,439 cases, Karak recorded 2,025 cases, Jerash recorded 1,277 cases, and Tafileh recorded 1,173 cases. Madaba registered 1,325 cases, Aqaba 847, Ramtha 640, and Ajloun 985 according to the Health Ministry's data.

The ministry said in a statement that 807 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 704 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 67,959 according to the ministry. Out of 16,406 COVID-19 tests conducted, 20.36 percent of them came back positive.
