Jordan records 2,170 new COVID-19 cases, positivity rate stands at 5.92%

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 2,170 new COVID-19 cases and 19 new deaths on Thursday, bringing the total death toll to 12,810 and the total number of cases to 1,074,007.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 1,177 cases, while Zarqa recorded 197 cases. Irbid registered 279 cases, Balqa 111 cases, Karak recorded 52 cases, Jerash recorded 55 cases, and Tafileh recorded 3 cases. Madaba registered 65 cases, Aqaba 28, Ramtha 35, and Ajloun 38.

The ministry said in a statement that 87 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 96 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 26,054 according to the ministry. Out of 36,626 COVID-19 tests conducted Thursday, 5.92 percent of them came back positive.
