Jordan records 2,220 new COVID-19 cases, positivity rate stands at 4.88%

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 2,220 new COVID-19 cases and 34 new deaths on Wednesday, bringing the total death toll to 12,590 and the total number of cases to 1,059,515.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 957 cases, while Zarqa recorded 292 cases. Irbid registered 410 cases, Balqa 115 cases, Karak recorded 64 cases, Jerash recorded 83 cases, and Tafileh recorded 13 cases. Madaba registered 59 cases, Aqaba 40, Ramtha 33, and Ajloun 60.

The ministry said in a statement that 108 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 116 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 35,483 according to the ministry. Out of 45,533 COVID-19 tests conducted Wednesday, 4.88 percent of them came back positive.
