Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transport Fares Abu Deih met with a delegation from the International Transporters Association of Turkey (UND), headed by Deputy Chairman Kemal Gül, to discuss ways to strengthen Jordanian-Turkish cooperation in road and transit transport and facilitate the movement of trucks and goods between the two countries.

During the meeting, Abu Deih stressed the importance of the relations between Jordan and Turkey in the transport sector, noting that current regional developments have increased the importance of road transport and alternative logistics corridors, as well as the role of Jordan and Turkey in supporting trade and transit flows across the region.
He said the ministry is following up on procedures and implementation mechanisms aimed at reducing transport costs and improving the movement of trucks and trade between the two countries.
The two sides also reviewed the movement of Turkish trucks through Jordan. The Turkish delegation praised the facilities provided to Turkish transport operators, as well as improvements in transit procedures at the Jaber Border Crossing and the reduction in waiting times.
For his part, Haddad stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships between Jordanian and Turkish transport operators and taking advantage of current regional circumstances to develop alternative land corridors, which would enhance Jordan’s role as a regional logistics hub.
The meeting also addressed the importance of developing integrated logistics corridors linking Jordan, Turkey, Syria and Saudi Arabia.
