Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya has approved the completion of procedures by administrative governors to release 374 administrative detainees.
The decision comes as part of the ministry’s ongoing measures aimed at giving those released an opportunity to reintegrate into society, strengthen their prospects for rehabilitation, and resume their normal lives with their families and communities, following a review of their files and the nature of their cases and after determining that they had served sufficient periods in detention.
The decision also reflects the ministry’s humanitarian approach to administrative detention, in accordance with the safeguards stipulated by law, while maintaining the legal and security measures necessary to restrict criminal activity by individuals considered a threat.
