AMMANMinister of Interior Mazen Al-Faraya and Canadian Ambassador Tarik Khan discussed Jordanian-Canadian relations and prospects for further enhancing bilateral cooperation during a meeting on Monday.اضافة اعلان

Faraya stressed the importance of developing relations in the economic and political fields in a manner that achieves the two countries' interests, commending Canada's support of Jordan's reform and development programs and projects.

Refugee-related challengesDue to the high number of Syrian refugees the Kingdom has welcomed, its efforts to deal with the refugee crisis have greatly outweighed its capabilities and sapped its resources, the minister said, noting that refugees require further support from world nations and concerned organizations.

Faraya called on the international community to focus on local communities that have hosted refugees and shared health and educational resources and services with them through launching productive projects to ease the burden on these communities and enable them to carry out their humanitarian role.

For his part, the Canadian envoy reaffirmed his country's keen interest to bolster relations with Jordan, hailing the Kingdom's political and economic reforms and its hosting of Syrian refugees despite the economic hardships it faces.
