Director of the Road Maintenance Department at the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), Raed Al-Dajeh, said Saturday that GAM crews are working on paving 20 damaged main streets, covering an estimated area of 500,000 square meters, with a financial cost of 3 million dinars.

Al-Dajeh added that specialized technical committees at GAM identified around 38 damaged main streets, based on field inspections and citizen feedback, of which 20 were selected for paving and maintenance.
He explained that GAM annually tenders a project for paving major roads, noting that within a week, a separate tender will be floated for paving secondary roads across the capital.
Al-Dajeh pointed out that GAM began nighttime paving work 10 days ago on several main streets as part of the rehabilitation plan, through a dedicated tender for these roads.
The paving works include: Queen Rania Street, Wasfi Al-Tal Street, Al-Madina Al-Munawara Street, King Abdullah II Street, Al-Hurriya Street/Al-Muqabalin, Al-Quds Street/Ras Al-Ain, Al-Nouri Al-Hadid Street/Al-Qweismeh, King Abdullah I Street/Marka, Zahran Street/Zahran, Al-Furusiyya Street/Al-Nasr, Queen Alia and Queen Noor Streets/Abdali, Salah Al-Din Street/Al-Madina, Abu Nseir Street, Shafa Badran Main Street/Shafa Badran, Osama Bin Zaid Street/Talou’ Tawar’e Al-Bashir/Al-Yarmouk, along with other streets to be included in the tender.
