GAM announces state of medium alert to deal with weather conditions

AMMAN — The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) announced a state of medium alert in response to an expected depression accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds across the Kingdom, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.اضافة اعلان

The GAM spokesperson Nasser Al-Rahamneh called on the public to contact the main emergency room numbers in the Tla Al-Ali area at 065359970 or 065359971 or mobile 0798166789, and operations rooms of the 22 sub-areas of the GAM for any concerns. 

He called on the public to remove objects from their rooftops and yards that could be blown away by strong winds and urged people living in low-lying areas to relocate to higher grounds.

Rahamneh also stated that households should refrain from connecting their drainage pipes to manholes in the street, as that places additional pressure on the sewage system and causes the manholes to flood.
