Cybercrime Unit Warns of New Theft and Fraud Method

The Cybercrime Unit has warned of a new method of digital theft and fraud involving scammers who post links to fake applications on social media platforms, most of which claim to offer access to encrypted football matches.اضافة اعلان

The unit emphasized that when a user attempts to download the application, the link forces the device to shut down. Upon restarting and entering the device's passcode, the malware immediately seizes control of the device and all its contents, including bank accounts.

Furthermore, the unit noted that it is currently investigating several complaints received from individuals who fell victim to this criminal method.




To avoid falling victim to this type of cybercrime, the unit urged everyone to download applications exclusively from official stores (Apple Store and Google Play) and to strictly avoid downloading any applications from other websites, platforms, or electronic links.
