Cabinet refers ‘urgent’ SSC legislation to opinion bureau

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday referred the amendments to the Social Security Corporation (SSC) Law to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

The draft law amends the eligibility requirements for maternity leave and makes it more affordable for the private sector to hire unemployed jobseekers.

Under the amendments, widowed or divorced women will become eligible for a portion of their deceased father’s salary.

Additionally, the legislation will add a year of service to all active personnel of the Jordan Armed Forces and national security agencies, reflecting a Royal decree issued in June 2020.

The bill also offers additional privileges to injured military veterans.
