Legal burdenThe continued implementation of the Defense Law, Abu Abood said, places a burden on the Kingdom’s judicial and legislative authorities, as it disrupts main laws. Revoking it, he noted, has become a priority.
"There are no justifications for continuing to enforce the Defense Law, and defense orders have begun to obstruct legal procedures. It must be ended.”
If Jordan does not revoke the Defense Law, it will have a negative impact on attracting investments to the Kingdom, he warned.

The end of COVID-19Further, Abu Abood said that not a single country in the world continues to implement a similar defense or martial law after the end of the pandemic.

"There are no justifications for continuing to enforce the Defense Law, and defense orders have begun to obstruct legal procedures,” he said. “It must be ended.”
