AMMAN — The head of the Milk Producers Association, Marwan Sawalha, said that there is no need to import milk from neighboring countries or use powdered milk in the manufacture of dairy derivatives, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

Sawalha indicated that at this time of the year, 250 million tonnes of sheep’s milk are being produced per day locally, which is equivalent to 450 tonnes of cow’s milk due to fatness and density rates.

Sawalha further mentioned that the sector has been recovering gradually, and local markets are being monitored closely regarding dairy and cheese products. Despite the destruction of large quantities of milk that were contaminated with antibiotics, the milk and meat production will return to its normal level within 14 days, according to Sawalha.

"We did not notice any significant shortage in the provision of these commodities," he added.
