Army foils infiltration, smuggling attempts

AMMAN — The Northern Military Zone, in coordination with the Military Security Directorate, the Anti-Narcotics Department, and Jordan Customs Department (JCD), on Wednesday, foiled an attempt to smuggle large amounts of drugs at the Jaber border crossing, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

A source at the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF) said that rules of engagement were applied to the smugglers, leading to their escape.

Security personnel searched the area and found 600,000 drug pills, which were all referred to the relevant authorities, the JAF source added.

The source stressed the JAF will firmly deal with any infiltration or smuggling attempt to protect the Kingdom’s borders and prevent any attempts targeting Jordan’s national security.
