AMMAN — The
Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has determined that 81,378
students meet the criteria to compete for grants and loans, after ministry
staff finished processing all electronic objections submitted regarding
university grants and loans, which numbered 28,131 in total.

Spokes person Muhannad Al-Khatibtold Al-Mamlaka TV on Thursday that the
objections fell into two categories. Requests related to humanitarian cases
totaled 13,388. “These were not true objections,” as they did not reflect any
errors in grant and loan data or processing, he said.
The second category
contained 14,743 objections, however, only 2,325 were considered “real”
objections supported by
documents submitted by students and requiring recalculation
or rectification of students’ financial aid status, the spokesperson noted.
