Olive trees in the governorate are abundant; some 86,000 dunums are cultivated with these trees, said Khaldi.

Director-General of the National Agricultural Research Center Nizar Hadad said that the center seeks to strengthen the comparative advantage of olive trees in the economic value chain, as well as of olive oil and olive-related products, and to promote the fruit in agro-ecotourism.

Preparations are under way for the 22nd National Olive Festival and for the exhibition of rural women products, which will begin on November 24.
