AMMAN — Trade relations between Jordan and China are prospering, as evident in the
volume of trade exchange between the two countries,
China’s Ambassador Chen

The ambassador told
Jordan News that
Jordanian olive oil, and other products are being promoted in the market in
China.
By the same token, Chinese goods sold in the
Jordanian market are popular, especially that they “are of good quality, and
are sold at reasonable prices”.
The envoy pointed to China-made electric cars,
saying they have swept markets worldwide, including Jordan. “They boast of many
high features, in addition to being affordable and stylish,” he said.
He explained that the importance of the electric
cars is they are environmentally friendly. “Hopefully more of these cars will
be made, so that everyone can have them,” he added.
The ambassador’s remarks came during a press
conference on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The
press meeting was held at the embassy in Amman on Wednesday.
The communist
congress meeting, held every five years, is the largest political event of the
Communist Party, and China as a whole. It was held October 16–22 in the Chinese
capital of Beijing, where it reviewed the work of the party in the past five
years, and the changes that emerged in the country in the past decade.
The ambassador said that Sino-Arab economic and
trade cooperation has achieved fruitful results, adding that China has been the
largest trading partner of Arab countries for many years.
The volume of trade exchange between China and Arab
countries has reached $330 billion, a $110 billion increase compared with a
decade ago, the ambassador said.
He said China and Arab countries worked closely to
overcome the difficulties brought about by the
COVID-19 pandemic. China donated
a large number of vaccines to Arab countries, and is also cooperating in the
production of vaccines locally.
According to the results of the congress meeting,
the central task of the Communist Party has become to unite with people of
different nationalities across the country, and to lead them to achieving a
modern socialist state.
The meeting also outlined ambitious broad lines for
China’s development, among them is accelerating the establishment of a new
development pattern, and focusing on promoting high-quality development. It
said China will continue to implement the strategy of “promoting the nation through
science and education.”
