Careem expands Next Gen Program in Jordan, hiring top engineering graduates from leading universities
Amman, Jordan: Careem has announced the expansion of its Careem Next Gen program in Jordan, reinforcing its commitment to developing local engineering talent and creating meaningful career opportunities for outstanding graduates across the Kingdom.

Careem Next Gen is a full-time employment program for Software Engineers at levels 1 and 2, designed to support high-potential graduates as they transition from university into product-driven engineering roles.

To reach top talent early in their careers, Careem conducted an on-ground hiring drive across several of Jordan’s leading universities, including the University of Jordan, Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Jordan University of Science and Technology, and Al Hussein Technical University. Through these engagements, Careem met with top-performing students and graduates and successfully hired a new group of engineers to join the growing Next Gen cohort in Jordan.

Careem Next Gen  combines full-time employment with structured on-the-job upskilling. Engineers receive continuous technical and professional development covering a wide range of areas, including soft skills, backend and frontend development, mobile engineering, data and machine learning, and artificial intelligence, among others. Participants are also allocated across different Careem verticals, where they contribute to core technology engineering while working alongside experienced teams.

Tareq Khalaf, Senior Software Engineering Manager at Careem in Jordan commented: “Jordanian universities are producing incredibly talented engineers, and we see huge potential in students who are eager to apply what they’ve learned to real-world problems. By expanding Next Gen in Amman, we’re giving more graduates the opportunity to start their careers locally, work on meaningful products, and grow within a strong engineering community.”

With this expansion, Careem continues to strengthen Jordan’s role as an important engineering hub within the region and reaffirms its long-term investment in local talent, supporting the next generation of technologists as they begin their professional journeys.
