The Sudan Doctors’ Network stated that the RSF committed a horrific crime on Sunday evening in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, killing unarmed citizens based on ethnic grounds in what they described as an act of ethnic cleansing. Field reports indicate dozens of victims, with access to affected areas hampered by complete security breakdown caused by the RSF.
The network added that RSF forces looted hospitals, medical facilities, and pharmacies, further devastating essential health services. It condemned the attacks as a blatant violation of international laws and norms that prohibit targeting civilians and health facilities. The organization called on the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the international community to act immediately to stop the massacres, protect civilians, and hold perpetrators accountable under international law.
Meanwhile, the El Fasher Resistance Committees said in a statement that innocent civilians are subjected to the most brutal forms of violence and ethnic cleansing, warning that silence or neutrality amounts to complicity with the oppressors.
On Sunday, heavy clashes continued between the Sudanese army and RSF in El Fasher, amid RSF claims of seizing an army headquarters in the city, which the army has not confirmed. Local volunteers fighting alongside the army stressed that the city remains resilient against RSF attacks and accused the RSF of spreading misleading media campaigns to instill fear.
Thousands of families in the besieged city are facing severe shortages of food, medicine, and drinking water, with the blockade putting civilians, especially children and the elderly, at risk of famine and disease. Since May 10, 2024, the RSF has besieged El Fasher, while the army seeks to break the blockade of this key humanitarian hub serving Darfur’s five states.
North Kordofan
On Monday, Emergency Lawyers’ Association reported that since Saturday, October 25, 2025, the RSF has committed a horrific massacre against civilians in Bara, North Kordofan, following clashes with the army. A large-scale attack directly targeted civilians, resulting in mass executions of hundreds of residents, mostly young people.
The attacks included arrests, looting, and destruction of public and private property, with complete disruption of communications and internet services, leading to mass displacement to nearby villages under harsh humanitarian conditions. Many remain missing.
The association held the RSF leadership fully legally responsible for these crimes and violations, urging the international community, UN missions, and regional and international human rights organizations to act urgently to stop the massacres and protect civilians.
As of 07:00 local time, the RSF had not responded to the statements by the Sudan Doctors’ Network or Emergency Lawyers’ Association, although it typically claims that civilians are not targeted. On Saturday, the RSF announced the seizure of Bara, which the army has not confirmed, having stated in September 11 that it had regained control of the city.
Bara is strategically important as it lies on the road connecting Kordofan and Darfur regions to the capital Khartoum via Omdurman.
