Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, affirmed that the armed forces represent "the military of all Sudan" and will remain a national army for all Sudanese people. He emphasized that there are no political parties within the military establishment and reiterated its commitment to defending the country's unity, sovereignty, and stability.

Speaking on Sunday during Khartoum State's celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Al-Burhan stated that the armed forces will continue working to develop their capabilities and enhance their resources to fulfill their mandate of protecting the state and preserving its security.
Addressing economic and living conditions, the Sovereign Council Chairman acknowledged the hardships faced by citizens due to the ongoing economic situation. He called on the Khartoum State government to ease burdens on owners of small businesses and projects, lower commodity prices, and improve basic services.
Al-Burhan stressed that improving living conditions and providing essential services represent critical factors in encouraging displaced persons to return to their homes and settle. He announced the imminent restoration of electricity services while confirming the government's ongoing efforts to supply utilities and rehabilitate and support hospitals across Khartoum State.
Since April 15, 2023, Sudan has been engulfed in a fierce conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The war has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties and displaced millions internally and abroad, while regional and international efforts continue to face challenges in securing a sustainable ceasefire or an extended humanitarian truce.
