The match remained goalless until the 81st minute, when Troy Parrott scored a late winner to secure victory for Betis.

Real Madrid appeared set to snatch an exciting draw when new signing Carlos Espí found the net three minutes before full time. However, the goal was ruled out after a VAR review.
The defeat ended Real Madrid’s run of three consecutive victories, leaving them on nine points in second place, behind leaders Barcelona on goal difference.
Barcelona will have the chance to extend their lead at the top when they visit Valencia on Sunday evening. Betis also moved onto nine points with the victory.
