Sadly, some of the beautiful spots in these magnificent natural sites are covered with waste and pollution. One can only feel annoyance over such sceneries.

Nature is the source of our livelihood; we get everything from nature, and so it is unethical of us to destroy it or to continue to overlook it. If nature is destroyed and the natural resources are depleted, eventually we will also be gone with it.

Protecting the environment is not a difficult act and does not require a lot of effort. Every individual can contribute to it. Few minor changes in lifestyle can have a big positive influence, and tilt the scales to a more sustainable lifestyle.

There are three main ways to reduce the production of waste: reduce, reuse and recycle. The less waste that ends up in landfills and dumpsites, the less pollution and contamination is caused to our natural resources.

We can produce less waste through simple practices, such as using the same shopping bag every time, instead of using new ones.

Products that we cannot reuse, can be recycled and thus reduce the necessity of usage of more raw materials when manufacturing new products. The simplest example of this is recycling paper, which reduces the need to cut more trees.

Jordan faces scarcity in its water resources. By implementing certain behaviors, we can contribute to conserving our water resources and even have a lower water bill. Some of these practices include watering plants in the early morning or in the evening to make sure plants use up most of the water without loss to evaporation, not leaving the water running when washing hands with soap or brushing teeth or even doing the dishes, and keeping a bucket in the shower when extra water runs out for cleaning cars or cleaning floors.

One can find plenty of ways to be creative in conserving water. When there is a will, there is a way. It is also equally important to spread awareness when it comes to implementing these sustainable actions and lifestyles.

Everything starts with the person themselves. Thus, it is wise to educate ourselves on the effect we have on the environment around us, knowing that nature works in a cycle, so whatever we put out there in terms of pollution or contamination, will come turn back on us with a very negative effect.
