The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) published its statistical report for the second quarter of 2025 for the telecommunications sector.

According to the report:

Mobile Voice Traffic: Total mobile voice traffic reached 7.1 billion minutes, with 97% domestic and 3% international.

SMS Messages: Approximately 344 million SMS messages were sent, compared to 291 million in Q2 2024, marking an 18.2% growth.

Mobile Broadband Data Usage: Usage reached 724 million GB, up from 627 million GB in Q2 2024, a 15.5% increase.

Fixed Broadband Internet Services:

Total subscriptions reached 819,000, compared to 794,000 in Q2 2024, reflecting 3% growth and a household penetration rate of 33.3%.

Distribution by technology:

Fiber: 76% (619,300 subscriptions)

FBWA (Fixed Wireless Access): 17%

xDSL: 7%

Fixed broadband data usage reached 1.5 billion GB, up from 1.3 billion GB in Q2 2024 (15.4% growth), with an average monthly usage of 605 GB per subscription, compared to 542 GB in Q2 2024 (11.6% growth).

Fixed Voice Services:

Total subscriptions: 484,300, compared to 492,000 in Q2 2024.

Residential sector: 66%

Commercial sector: 33%

Fixed-line voice traffic: 10.1 million minutes in Q2 2025, compared to 11.5 million in Q2 2024. Of this, 83% was domestic and 17% international.

Leased line subscriptions reached 24,800, up from 23,000 in Q2 2024, marking a 7.8% increase.
