Following the recent visit by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II to inspect development projects and the "Sanad" digital services, I found myself viewing the concept of electronic transformation in the Kingdom through a different lens. I began to realize the scale of the real bet the state is placing on technology to simplify people's lives. To me, this was no ordinary visit; it was a clear message that the digitalization file has become a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom’s future, backed by a genuine commitment to ensuring government services reach citizens in the fastest and easiest way possible.

In the midst of this discussion, the "Sanad" application came back to mind—an app I wasn't entirely convinced of at first. To be honest, I used to believe that government apps were often more complicated than they were useful, and I preferred handling my transactions the traditional way. In fact, I had previously tried to download the app to explore the concept of "Digital Identity," but I was met with a message requesting that I visit a branch to activate my account. I closed the app immediately and decided not to repeat the experiment.
What changed my perspective, however, was the Royal visit and a simple encounter with my friend, "Abu Jamil." As we sat one evening sipping coffee and chatting, he began speaking enthusiastically about the services he now completes via "Sanad" in minutes, without the need for appointments or standing in queues. I remained skeptical, but he insisted that I re-download the app right then and there.
Within minutes, I discovered something I hadn't known: Digital Identity activation can be done through your bank, without the need to visit any government service center. It was then that I realized part of the problem doesn't lie within the app itself, but rather in the lack of public awareness regarding how to use it and the services it offers.
The truth is, the concept of "Sanad" is truly brilliant. To carry your digital identity on your phone and complete government transactions from your home or workplace is a significant achievement for the country. However, on the other hand, one cannot ignore the technical glitches that continue to frustrate many users.
The most prominent of these issues include delays in receiving activation codes or service interruptions during use. These details might seem minor, but for the citizen, they are the foundation of the entire experience. A user does not judge a project based on official statements, but rather on its daily ease of use.
Furthermore, there are concerns among some people regarding data privacy. Some believe the app might expose their banking data or personal information, whereas the reality is that "Sanad" is merely a secure gateway to facilitate access to government services, not a tool for monitoring or spying on people.
Today, I can say that the "Sanad" project is a vital step toward a more advanced and modern Jordan. However, it requires two essential elements: faster technical solutions and clearer public awareness. The success of any digital project depends not only on the strength of the idea but on the citizen’s trust and comfort while using it.
