The twig was found alongside gypsum stones containing aquatic insect larvae, indicating a stagnant, semi-marine aquatic environment.
This finding reflects the interaction between shallow marine and wet continental environments and provides evidence of complex ecosystems in Jordan during the Cretaceous. Rapid sedimentation conditions contributed to the exceptional preservation of both plant material and small organisms.
