Severe Shortage of Blood Units in Gaza Hospitals

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that blood banks in the Strip’s hospitals are suffering from a severe and dangerous shortage of blood units and their components.اضافة اعلان

In a statement issued today, Tuesday, the ministry confirmed that the daily need exceeds 350 blood units, noting that the severity of injuries arriving at hospitals requires additional blood supplies to save lives.

It also pointed out that sources for replenishing blood stocks, including community blood donation campaigns, have declined due to the spread of famine and malnutrition.

The ministry issued an urgent appeal to all relevant bodies to help strengthen hospitals’ blood supplies.
