Fadi Farah, the Committee's rapporteur, stated that Al-Zeitawi, a member of the Jordanian Engineers Association, was released from occupation prisons in 2022 after spending seven years on charges of resisting the occupation.

Farah added, “We hold the occupation authorities responsible for the lives of our Jordanian prisoners, who, like all prisoners in occupation prisons, face a systematic campaign of abuse since October 7, with the occupation blatantly violating international laws against the prisoners.”

Zeitawi's family urged the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work for the release of their son, who was arrested without any charges or reasons, Jo24 reported.
