Leaders of eight Nordic and Baltic countries said Saturday that they held talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reaffirming their support for Kyiv and pledging to continue supplying weapons while Europe strengthens its defenses to deter further Russian aggression.

Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden said in a joint statement: “Russia has not yet committed to a ceasefire or taken any steps that lead to peace.”
The statement added: “Solutions that respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and bring greater security and stability to Ukraine and Europe have our full support.”
The countries also backed tougher sanctions and broader economic measures against Moscow as the war continues.
The announcement comes as Ukraine and its European allies rush to develop a coordinated response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s 28-point plan to end the war in Ukraine, presented this week.
