Rubio said on Saturday:
“We are receiving proposals regarding the formation of an international force in Gaza, and we will discuss this matter with Qatar in a meeting tomorrow, Sunday.”
Speaking to journalists while traveling by plane between Israel and Qatar en route to Asia, Rubio added:
“Many countries have expressed interest in participating to some extent, whether financially, with personnel, or both. This will require a United Nations decision or an international agreement because their domestic laws necessitate it.”
He continued:
“So, we have a full team working on outlining this plan.”
On Saturday evening, U.S. President Donald Trump, during a stopover in Doha on his way to Asia, met with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
