Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam announced that he will visit Syria on Monday to meet with top Syrian officials and discuss a number of shared issues between the two countries.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Salam stated that the issue of missing Lebanese detainees in Syrian prisons, who were reportedly abducted during the rule of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, will be one of the key topics during his meetings in Syria.
“I hope to return with good news regarding the missing persons in Syria,” Salam said, adding that he will provide further updates to the Lebanese public on the matter after his discussions with Syrian officials, which will also cover other bilateral concerns.
