The channel added that Israeli forces carried out inspections and deployed on rooftops while drones patrolled the Quneitra area.

The latest incursion comes after Syria, Jordan, and the United States agreed on Tuesday on a roadmap to resolve the crisis in Suwayda Governorate and stabilize southern Syria, with Washington set to work with Jordanian support and consult with Damascus to reach security understandings with Israel.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry stated that these understandings “address legitimate security concerns for both Syria and Israel while reaffirming Syria’s sovereignty.”

Syrian President Ahmad al-Shar’ recently told Syria’s state channel that the country is negotiating a security agreement “to restore Israel to its position prior to December 8.”

Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime on December 8, 2024, Israeli forces have entered the buffer zone in the Golan Heights, occupied additional Syrian territories, and carried out hundreds of airstrikes on military sites across Syria.

Damascus condemned the Israeli attacks and repeated incursions into Quneitra, Daraa, and the Damascus countryside, stating that they hinder stabilization efforts and violate international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
