A senior Hamas official announced on Friday evening that the movement has submitted its response to the U.S.-proposed ceasefire plan through mediators.

The official stated that "Hamas’s response is positive and will help pave the way toward an agreement."
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said he expected Hamas to respond to his “final” proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza within 24 hours.
On Tuesday, Trump had announced that Israel had agreed to the necessary terms to implement a 60-day ceasefire with Hamas, during which all parties would work toward ending the war.
A source familiar with Hamas’s position said the group is demanding clear guarantees that negotiations to end the war will take place during the 60-day ceasefire. If no agreement is reached by the end of that period, the ceasefire would be extended to allow both sides time to reach a final agreement.
