70% of Gaza's electricity grid destroyed in Israeli aggression

GAZA – On Wednesday, Zafar Milhem, the head of the Palestinian Authority's Energy Authority, revealed that 70 percent of the electricity transmission and distribution networks have been destroyed due to the continuous Israeli aggression on Gaza, since October 7, the Palestinian News Agency WAFA reported.اضافة اعلان

The estimated losses amount to around $80 million USD.

Milhem highlighted the deliberate targeting of solar cells, which represent the sole remaining energy source in Gaza, with a production capacity not exceeding 5 megawatts.

He stated that approximately 70 percent of these cells had been destroyed as of Wednesday, also he underscored that the occupation's denial of basic services and its attempts to render Gaza uninhabitable are war crimes for which the occupying state must be held accountable.
