He added that Israeli interference had reignited tensions in Sweida following its blatant bombardment of the south and Damascus.

The president emphasized that only the Syrian state is capable of preserving its sovereignty and authority across all Syrian territory. He also praised the United States for its affirmation of support for Syria’s unity.

Expressing his gratitude to the tribal communities for what he described as heroic positions, President Al-Shar’a called for an immediate and complete ceasefire.

He stressed that “the honorable Druze community should not be judged by the actions of a few,” noting that “the events have proven that the people of Sweida stand with the state—with the exception of a small minority.”

“We disavow all massacres and violations that have taken place in Sweida Governorate,” he declared, calling on tribal leaders and members of the Druze community to stand united during this critical time.

He further noted that Syria is not a battleground for separatist agendas, saying, “The strength of the state lies in the cohesion of its people. We emphasize the need for justice for all,” while urging firm opposition to anyone fueling sectarian strife.
