Social media platform Instagram has released a version of its app specifically for Apple’s iPad tablets.

This move comes after years of iPad users requesting a dedicated Instagram app, so they wouldn’t have to rely on the iPhone version—which doesn’t fully support the larger screen—or access the platform via a web browser.اضافة اعلان

According to the German Press Agency, the new app defaults to the Reels interface, allowing users to scroll vertically and watch short videos on a bigger screen.

The iPad version of Instagram includes nearly all features of the mobile app for viewing content. Stories appear at the top, and users can access various options from the left sidebar, such as following posts, direct messaging, search, Explore, and notifications.

Tech site TechCrunch noted that Instagram’s previous presence on iPad was essentially a scaled-up iOS app not optimized for the larger display.

Instagram has now updated the app to fully support the tablet format. For example, when watching a video, users can see comments on the side, and when opening the Messages tab, they can view a specific conversation while keeping all active chats visible on the left.

Although Instagram has existed for nearly 15 years, the company had not prioritized an iPad app until now.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri has repeatedly stated that the company was not in a hurry to develop an iPad version. Earlier this year, The Information reported that Instagram was finally working on an iPad-specific app.

Previously, third-party apps like “Retro” allowed iPad users to access Instagram, filling the gap left by the absence of an official version.
