According to data released by the foundation,
Alwan, who works now at
Qatar University, published 35 works and harvested more
than 1,800 citations by the time the list was released.
According to Alwan, the research titled
"Factors influencing adoption of mobile banking by Jordanian bank customers:
Extending UTAUT2 with trust" gained more than 800 citations alone and has
been mentioned by scholars across the world.
He presented working papers concerning his
research on 15 occasions, while participating in international conferences, he told
Jordan News. Being so prolific comes at a price, he said, explaining
that it takes resources and, more importantly, total dedication to be a
productive researcher, and so he hardly found time for family gatherings or
holidays over the past years.
His passion for research also cost him the extra income he
could have got from teaching summer courses, which he dropped for the past six
years to work on his papers, which cover topics like social media, and
marketing and information system management.
Alwan holds a bachelor degree in marketing and a
master degree in business administration from the University of Jordan. He
obtained his PhD from
Swansea University, UK. His current research interest
spans across e-marketing, social media marketing, e-commerce, mobile commerce,
innovation diffusion, artificial intelligence applications in the marketing
environment, self-service technologies, internet banking, and mobile banking.
Part of his work has been published in some refereed journals including
Telematics and Informatics, and Technology in Society.
He taught at several Jordanian universities,
including the
University of Jordan, the
German University, and
Al-Balqa Applied University, before joining Qatar University recently as an associate professor
of marketing.
