Moroccan artist Bassma Bousil spoke about her personal life and her previous marriage to Egyptian singer Tamer Hosny, revealing for the first time that their marriage ended in two stages, amid mutual feelings of respect and goodwill between them.

In a television interview, Bassma Bousil stated that she was not ready to marry at a young age, which later made her feel that she had rushed into the decision. She denied rumors that jealousy was a primary reason for the end of their marriage.
She explained that the first separation occurred quietly, away from the spotlight and media, while the second divorce was publicly announced and widely circulated across media outlets and social platforms.
Bousil said the motivations for the divorce were entirely different from what is widely reported and are linked to personal matters she prefers not to disclose. She confirmed that she went through a difficult period following the separation but gradually overcame it.
She emphasized her commitment to maintaining a stable relationship with Tamer Hosny to protect the feelings of their children and provide a stable environment for them.
Bousil noted that recent controversy following her statements was due to a misunderstanding and misinterpretation of her words. She clarified that her remarks referred only to her personal experience and were not directed against Tamer.
In a social media post, she wrote: “My words were misunderstood… I was speaking about myself, and Tamer knew that well. People thought I was attacking him, but he was joking with me and understood my point perfectly.”
She also affirmed in her post that Tamer Hosny still holds an important place in her life despite their separation, stating: “He is the most important in the lives of my children and has great value to me and to them.” She concluded by noting that he had always supported her, even contacting her before her television appearance at the time to wish her success.
