Jordan’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Lina Annab, met on Wednesday at the Ministry’s headquarters with Chairman of Qatar Tourism, Saad bin Ali Al-Kharji, and CEO of “Visit Qatar,” Abdulaziz Al-Mawlawi, along with the accompanying delegation. The meeting was part of an official visit by the Qatari delegation to Jordan at the invitation of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

The discussions focused on ways to enhance tourism cooperation between Jordan and Qatar and to develop a strategic partnership between the two countries.
The two sides addressed the importance of exchanging expertise and best practices in tourism development, and working together to promote tourism destinations in both countries. The goal is to boost visitor numbers and expand target markets.
They also emphasized the need to support joint cooperation initiatives, including the creation of integrated tourism programs, the organization of joint promotional campaigns, and the encouragement of tourism institutions in both countries to build effective partnerships that diversify tourism products and services.
Minister Annab stressed that cooperation with Qatar presents a valuable opportunity to strengthen the competitiveness of the tourism sector and exchange technical and administrative expertise. She noted that tourism is a vital sector that directly contributes to the national economy and fosters stronger ties between peoples.
For his part, Chairman of Qatar Tourism Saad bin Ali Al-Kharji affirmed the depth of bilateral relations between Jordan and Qatar, and the importance of developing tourism cooperation across various fields to benefit both sectors and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.
Al-Kharji also underscored the importance of enhancing tourism exchange and intensifying joint efforts to develop innovative initiatives that attract tourists and open new avenues for public-private sector partnerships.
The Qatari delegation concluded their visit with a field tour of the Amman Citadel and the Jordan Museum, where they explored historical and archaeological landmarks that highlight the richness and diversity of Jordan’s heritage.
