AMMAN — Head of Jordanian Geologists Association Khaled Shawabkeh on Saturday called for promoting Jordan’s abundant natural resources and taking advantage of them, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

“If these resources were properly promoted, Jordan would not need to request assistance from any country. Jordan has natural resources in significant quantities. Most areas in the south region qualify as very good investment zones, as they contain oil shale, copper, gold, silica, and other resources,” said Shawabkeh.

He added that natural resources contribute about 9–10 percent of gross national income and account for about 30 percent of Jordan’s foreign exports.

“There are no Jordanian marketing strategies targeting global companies, and some very restrictive laws have impeded Jordan from marketing its resources,” he said.
