The new Apple Upgrade program, introduced in partnership with payments company Klarna, expands customers' payment options and replaces Apple's previous financing programs in the U.S. market.
Under the program, customers can lease iPhones and Apple Watches for 12 or 24 months, while Macs and iPads are available under 24- or 36-month agreements.
Monthly payments start at:
$17.99 for iPhones
$11.99 for Apple Watches and iPads
$24.99 for Macs
Apple said applicants will undergo an initial credit check conducted by Klarna that will not affect their credit score.
Customers can also reduce their monthly payments by trading in an existing device and receive 3% cashback when paying with an Apple Card.
At the end of the lease term, customers can choose to return the device, purchase it with a one-time payment, or upgrade to a newer model.
The company added that current subscribers to the iPhone Upgrade Program will be able to transition to the new rental program if they meet the eligibility requirements.
Customers will also continue to have the option of using Apple Card Monthly Installments, carrier financing plans, or purchasing devices outright.
The program is now available through Apple's website, the Apple Store app, and Apple retail stores across the United States.
