AMMAN —
Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh
received Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities Bassam Mawlawi,
according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Khasawneh highlighted in Monday’s meeting the
historical relations between Jordan and Lebanon, pointing out that the
Jordanian government, under directives from
His Majesty King Abdullah, is
working to provide support and basic needs to Lebanon.
He also pointed to His Majesty’s efforts with the
international community to enable Lebanon to overcome the challenges it faces.
Mawlawi expressed appreciation for Jordan’s efforts,
under the leadership of His Majesty, in supporting Lebanon at the regional and
international levels. He also spoke about the economic challenges facing his
country, including the financial woes and electricity and gas shortages.
The meeting also tackled the repercussions of the
Syrian refugee crisis on the two countries, which are among the largest Syrian
refugee-hosting nations.
