Amman — The legal deadline for filing 2025 income tax returns and paying the associated tax liabilities will officially expire this Sunday.
The Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) has urged taxpayers to utilize the remaining time to submit their returns and settle their dues to avoid statutory penalties. These penalties include an additional tax for failure to file the return, as well as a fine of 4% of the tax due for every week of delay or any part thereof.

The Department announced that all its directorates and centers across the Kingdom will remain open this Saturday to facilitate electronic filing and payments. Since the official deadline coincides with a public holiday, the legal period is extended to the first following working day (Sunday) in accordance with Article 75 of the Income Tax Law.
The ISTD explained that the Saturday opening aims to provide an opportunity for taxpayers who have not yet completed their filing or payment procedures, ensuring compliance within the legal timeframe and avoiding financial additions resulting from delays.
