The Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) announced that all its directorates and centers across the Kingdom will remain open this coming Saturday. This measure is intended to enable taxpayers to file their income tax returns and settle any due taxes for the 2025 fiscal year. Since the official legal deadline coincides with a public holiday, the period has been extended to the first following working day in accordance with the law.

The Department explained that this procedure is based on the provisions of Article (75) of the Income Tax Law, which stipulates that if a deadline falls on an official holiday, it is extended to the first working day thereafter. Consequently, this coming Sunday will be the final legal deadline for filing returns and paying declared taxes.
The ISTD clarified that opening on Saturday aims to provide an opportunity for taxpayers who have not yet filed their returns or settled their declared amounts electronically to complete their procedures within the legal timeframe, thereby avoiding penalties and legal additions incurred by delays.
The Department urged taxpayers to utilize the remaining time to file their 2025 income tax returns and pay the due taxes to avoid penalties prescribed by law. These include a surcharge for failure to file the return, as well as a fine of 4 per mille (0.4%) of the tax due for every week of delay or any part thereof.
