Around 1.5 million Jordanians insured with SSC in Q1 2022

AMMAN — Social Security Corporation (SSC)said on Sunday that 1,423,000 people got insured with the corporation during the first quarter of this year, 8 percent more than in the same period last year, and “the highest number in the last 10 years”, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.اضافة اعلان

The first quarter of this year saw 2.8 percent more voluntary subscribers than in the same period last year, exceeding 80,300, while last year the number had reached 78,100, according to an SSC statement.

In the first quarter of 2022, 177,100 individuals working in the largest 100 employment facilities were insured with SSC, while 173,000 were insured in the same period last year, a growth rate of 2.4 percent.

SSC attributed the increase in the number of insured persons in the first quarter of 2022 to “the launch of initiatives taken to that end, and to higher awareness among workers in various sectors about the need to get insured, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the corporation played a huge role in supporting economic activities and workers covered by social security.
